It’s been some seven months since Alessandro Michele shut down Hollywood Boulevard to make way for the cinematic glamour of Gucci’s Love Parade. Jared Leto, Macaulay Culkin, Miranda July, and a cast of Hollywood’s finest took to LA’s most famous pavement to debut Gucci’s movie magic-inspired SS22 collection to the tune of Bjork’s “All is Full of Love”.
Half a year later, Gucci SS22 is live, and with it, the collection’s most anticipated accessory: the Blondie. Launching last week, Gucci’s spring/ summer shoulder bag enters the fashion sphere with a nostalgic campaign art directed by UK fashion royalty, Christopher Simmonds, and lensed by Angelo Pennetta.
