In light of the events that have transpired since the tragic killing of George Floyd, we have witnessed passion, anger and a cry for justice on the streets. Hopefully we are being confronted or confronting our own inaction in dismantling a system of white supremacy. In educating ourselves, by learning and unlearning the systems of power we have internalised, we quickly realise the changes we need to make to be a better ally. One easy lifestyle change we can make is actively broadening our horizons, listening to more BPoC voices, reading work by more BPoC, and supporting more BPoC-owned businesses. Financial contributions is not merely a quick donation, but continuous economic support by putting money directly in the hands of owners.
