FUJIFILM AND INDIE ARE SENDING YOU GREETINGS FROM TURKEY WITH LOVE

Have you ever wondered what is going on behind the scenes of our editorials? Have a peek inside the intense production of our main issue story for which we travelled to the magical region of Kahramanmaraş, capturing the people, atmosphere and spirit of Turkey. And of course having a blast and enjoying some good food, great fashion and the best company imaginable.

Once you have experienced a place as captivating as Cokyasar Köy, a small village located in South East Turkey, you can’t help but long to go back—and so we did. After shooting a fashion story in this singular landscape exactly one year ago for INDIE’s Outdoor issue, it only felt fitting to include Cokyasar Köy in this issue’s Home theme—not least because it literally is the home of INDIE Creative Director Dogukan Nesanir’s family. Equipped with a FUJIFILM instax mini 9 to capture every last bit of this thrilling production, we didn’t just return to a place, but a sanctuary and safe haven.

Forty degrees, moody teenagers-turned-models, and wind so heavy it almost made hair stylist Kalle Eklund’s work impossible—although there certainly were quite a few hurdles during this shoot, nothing could overshadow the feeling of homeliness and tremendous hospitality drawing through the village and these pictures.

As we made our way through Cokyasar Köy, packed with some of the most coveted pieces AW18 has to offer, we were unanimously greeted with warmth and curiosity—as well as plenty delicious Turkish tea.

The FUJIFILM instax mini 9 provides a perfect mixture of distinct analogue aesthetic and a variety of futuristic features. Available in five colours and equipped with a selfie mirror as well as a close-up lens, the FUJIFILM instaxmini 9 couldn’t be more fitting for capturing our favourite moments on the go—whether that’s around the corner or in a small village in Turkey.
