Working with photography, collages, studying art, and also running his own gallery, P7 gallery, in Berlin, Joseph Wolfgang Ohlert is a creative dweller as versatile as they come. Luckily, in this editorial for INDIE all these passions of Ohlert came together, creating a vibrant mixture of photography and art. Together with renowned Swiss photographer Walter Pfeiffer, Ohlert went to the Sanssouci castle near Berlin and later to his own atelier, with him taking the images while Pfeiffer drew the models. This sense of creative exchange has long been key to their friendship, which started several years ago and sees Pfeiffer, who has contributed to Vogue and i-D Magazine, as an important reference point for Ohlert’s own work, with both photographers sharing a love for colours, analogue, and the same type of models. Pfeiffer, who not only attended the shooting but also made a small appearance himself, also wrote the foreword to Ohlert’s upcoming book “DARLINGS!”, out in May – dedicated to Ohlert’s passion for collaging, and most certainly as eclectic as this exclusive project for INDIE.
