Photographer Shannon May Powell’s work roots itself in “Psychogeography” which author Guy Debord fittingly defined as “the study of the precise laws and specific effects of the geographical environment, consciously organised or not, on the emotions and behavior of individuals” in 1955. Here, Shannon reflects on this notion and presents her latest editorial which uses the bedroom as a setting to present gender fluidity and intimacy. Behind closed doors we can be whoever we want to be, the body is a landscape.
