GET AN EXCLUSIVE LOOK AT WHAT WENT DOWN AT PAWAKA’S COLLECTION LAUNCH IN BERLIN

Sanskrit for fire and energy, the Berlin based eyewear brand Pawaka did not disappoint with the unveiling of the SS18 collection this weekend. Pop cultural sci-fi references run along-side what Pawaka is already known for – dramatic edges and beautifully exaggerated shapes – to create something unique in the new line featuring futuristic visors and poppy curves. Pawaka SS18, crafted by hand in Italy and France, combines elements of yesterday, today and tomorrow. The combination makes for a delicate recipe created by the designer’s aesthetic and the best European artisans.

Strong in structure, yet simple and minimalist in detail, the collection’s inspiration lies in evolution, Native American philosophy and modernity. The designer Fahrani Empel constantly sources her Indonesian heritage within the Dayak tribes of Borneo. Born in 2015, the brand continues to be individual and with a distinctive character.
