Demi Bronkhorst is working to bring people closer to nature through her organic photography. She spends most of her time in Amsterdam, studying fashion design, however struggles to find motivation at times with pushing her designs as her creative interests mainly lie with DJ’ing and photography. Combining “aggressive trap, bass and future R&B” with documentary and lifestyle shoots, Demi aims to present her artistic self through “the club’s missing sounds” and honest imagery.
This series was shot during Demi’s short trip through Vietnam. She experienced all that Vietnam has to offer first hand – from the overwhelming movement in the bustling city of Ho Chi to the blissful recreation in the emerald waters in Halong Bay. From North to South; making memorable pit stops along the way. Demi met the kind people of Vietnam, became enriched in the culture, captured the “breath-taking nature” and indulged in the delicious Asian cuisine. “I took my analogue camera and tried to recreate a glimpse of my experiences that I want to share through my photography,” she says of her journey, “My focus was to photograph the locals in their natural habitat so that you can really see and feel the beauty and nature of the people”.
