Amandla Stenberg has proven more than once that she is worth every bit of the hype that surrounds her name. The talented, young actress is one of the most promising faces of her generation. But not only has she shown us her on-screen-skills to great impression, the 18-year old California-native is also one of the most outspoken and active artists out there, in terms of raising awareness for causes such as being black in America, sexual- and gender identity. For example, she was one of the stars of Beyoncé’s critically acclaimed, album-acompanying LEMONADE-film and publically came out as non-binary and pansexual.
Given this wide spectrum of talent, it comes as little-to-no surprise to us that the artist and activist is now spreading out into the music industry.
For the soundtrack of the ucpoming drama Everything Everything, which is to be released next week with her in the leading role, Amandla Stenberg covers Mac DeMarco’s 2014 song “Let my Baby Stay”. The soundtrack will also feature contributions by KAYTRANADA, The Internet and more.
