Not long after Supreme announced its much hyped and much instagrammed collaboration with Louis Vuitton at the end of February, the Streetwear favourite is back with another high-profile collaboration. This time around, Supreme worked together with French clothing line Lacoste, best known for its alligator branded polo shirts. Together, the two brands will be releasing a nine pieces strong limited co-branded collection on March 16, consisting of the classic polo shirt, sweatshirts, jogging pants, and the Harrington jacket, which all got the Supreme x Lacoste make-over.
After we already reported on how Supreme is slowly but surely taking over the world, this new collab seems to just be their next step in merging streetwear and high fashion, and simultaneously starting to dominate both. Weirdly enough, they are bringing exclusivity back into a field of fashion that was once the epitome of exactly that. But maybe that’s just what the fast-fashion rattled business needs. A young spirit shaking up the system.
