ATELIER ABOUT GETS DYSTOPIAN WITH ITS NEW AUTUMN / WINTER 2017 COLLECTION

“We just stand for human rights, we stand for diversity, we stand for cultural diversity, we all are against TERROR(ism)”, is the message behind Berlin based brand Atelier About‘s newest collection for Autumn / Winter 2017. Called “TEROR(ism)” it reflects on the current political and social state, the oppression and uncertainty so many people face and how the topic of terror affects our daily lives. Founder Gianpaolo Tucci and his design partner Giulio D’Alessio therefore looked to classical military references and transferred those into their unisex garments. Grenades made into key rings, military green, seemingly worn clothes – the duos message is to not let terror dictate your life but have a bold stand against it. Because after all “we are facing a brutal era”, they say.

Atelier About has been one of the rising brands of Berlin’s underground fashion scene with Gianpaolo Tucci founding the label in 2015. He and Giulio D’Alessio staged the first fashion show this January at Berlin Fashion Week, showing their “TERROR(ism)” collection. Influenced by the cities thriving music scene the label describes itself as a „brand experiment for non-gendered clothes“. With its conceptual approach and detailed exploration of certain themes, Atelier About manages to each season create a new, thoughtfully connected world for the viewer to explore.
