Born and bred in Hainan, the so called “Hawai of China”, Wan Hung brings us back to his roots for his A/W17 collection at London Collections: Men. The Central Saint Martins graduate takes inspiration from Chinese New Year’s celebrations, mixed with his impeccable tailoring signature. Beautifully tailored jackets, coats and trousers in denim, bold prints and of course red – China’s symbolic color, were worn with less traditional backpacks, salmon pink bomber jackets and PVC oversized trousers.
Right on the edge of tradition and modernity, East and West, past and future, this show was so far Wan Hung’s most personal one.
