Seventeen year old Pierre Kaczmarek, creative mind behind Paris based fashion label AFTERHOMEWORK(PARIS) recently revealed his third collection which is influenced by daily observation and introspection into Parisian youth culture. The underaged genius who is inspired by Margiela, street life and the idea of change aims at creating fashion that is represenative of the new generation – one of the reasons why Kaczmarek only asks friends to model for his brand. The young designer makes an attempt to go beyond trends and fashion itself and alludes to the social conflicts of the past spring in France. The materials of the collection can therefore be seen as a hint: cotton and thick wool transport the feeling of the heavy weight young people carry on their shoulders nowadays. Kaczmarek’s collection is an ode to the emerging generation with an integration of his very personal thoughts and experiences as belonging to it himself.
