What started off as helping a homie during a birthday party at Amsterdam’s former Ludwig quickly evolved into opening for iconic artists such as Tyler, The Creator, FKA Twigs, Lil’ Wayne and Mac Miller for crowds into the high thousands. The now twenty-one year old Jamairo Nawaz or Mairo if you’re talking music, comes from a musically interested background, his mother being a reggae lover with a large record collection and grandmother being heavily into Jazz and Soul inspired the Amsterdam native to pick up the drums at the early age of ten and from there start the climb. Now a part of the Patta Soundsystem DJ’s Nawaz mentions that it’s the people in his past and present that derive him to expand his following, hoping to play infinite genres for multiple crowds.
