René Magritte changed to world of art with his surrealist oeuvre. Even though he died almost 50 years ago, he’s a legend that will live forever. He was a rebel, a pioneer, a free thinker. Tags that perfectly fit the Belgian brand Komono that is specialized in creating stylish eyewear and watches. The masterminds behind this visionary label, designers Anton Janssens and Raf Maes, are fascinated by the work of our time’s most important artists. This fascination becomes visible in their numerous cooperation with the likes of Jean-Michel Basquiat or Andy Rementer. For their latest capsule collection Komono’s creatives used six of Magritte’s paintings to modify them and to give them a second life on watches. To celebrate this special occasion Komono invited a bunch of international journalists to Brussels, the home of the “Musée Magritte Museum” where the beautiful event took place.
