Female nudity pictured by highly anticipated photographers in an unnaturally perfect way – that’s what the selected elite loved about the Pirelli calendar. But time’s changing and so did the star-studded calendar. This years’ edition, shot by awesome Annie Leibovitz, celebrates women for their achievements and not only for their beauty. It’s all about strong females who worked hard for their success in various fields like art, journalism or music.
They might not fulfill the socially prevalent beauty standards but show a realistic view of the body in its different shapes and stages of age. The youngest one is our dearest 19-year old Tavi Gevinson, the oldest is Yoko Ono with 82 years. Besides two not too safe for work pictures (Serena Williams & Amy Schumer) all women are dressed in the black-and-white pictures. So, who are the power women changing the rules of the Pirelli calendar?
