To celebrate Wood Wood’s 15th birthday, the Danish brand has teamed up once again with British brand Barbour for an autumn/winter capsule menswear collection; for Wood Wood’s last landmark anniversary 5 years ago, Barbour created a limited edition jacket.
This time around, the fruit of the Barbour x Wood Wood collab is a small but perfectly formed capsule collection, containing jackets, sweats, shirts, and accessories. The range combines the famous Barbour practicality and durability with Wood Wood’s contemporary minimalist aesthetic.
Barbour’s iconic waxed jacket has been reworked, the ring-pull zipper a focal point: the Valby Wax Jacket boasts cord lined hand-warmer pockets, a thick quilted inner lining and a stowaway hood, while the Souter Wax Jacket pile lining is cosy warm, its storm-guard skirted hood makes it extra protective when up against the elements. The Kilde and Amager Waterproof Breathable Jackets feature blue and orange details, a subtle reference to buoys and the maritime influence that inspires both brands.
Meanwhile, the collection also includes logo tees and sweats in Wood Wood’s recognisable style, the pinks and blues also carrying through to the accessories, including the navy and pink Valby scarf.
The Wood Wood W.W. has been modified for the collaboration, to include the Barbour logo with a tilted B – referring to 55th parallel north, the circle of latitude where both brand offices are located.
“This is a really exciting capsule collection,” said Ian Berlin, Barbour’s Director of Menswear & Accessories. “[It] brings together Barbour’s iconic designs with Wood Wood’s Scandinavian design style.”
Barbour x Wood Woodwill be available online at woodwood.com and Wood Wood on 9 September, then landing in UK stockist END clothing on 16 September, and finally on the barbour.com website and from selected stockists from 23 September.
