There couldn’t be a more symbolic place for Banksy’s newest artwork. Painted on a building in Dover, the seaside town that is known for its ferry that connects England to the rest of Europe, the mural shows a man on a ladder who is removing one star from the European flag, leaving many cracks on the foundation. These cracks could be a symbol for the possible consequences for the UK’s people’s mobility and economy that might follow this political decision. Although the Bristol artist Banksy is famous for staying anonymous, a picture of the artwork appeared on his Instagram account, showing that in these times it’s important to take a political stand.
